Blood Collection for Dry ( Heiten LeGarde ) Analysis Only

Method I  ( preferred )

1. First go to the "Evaluation Page" in the table of contents. Fill out the background form & print out a copy to include with your Blood Sample.

2. Put the glove on opposite hand that the sample is being taken from. 

3. Spin your sample arm like a windmill to increase circulation to your fingers.

4. Use a the lancet provided in kit or use the type used for testing blood sugar after swabbing 2nd finger with swab provided or peroxide. Enter at a 45 degree angle half way between the tip of the pad & side of the finger with the lancet. ( doing it faster is always pain free )

5. Use the collection tube* provided or ( use "Method II" ).  Begin by massaging the finger starting at the base working towards the tip of your finger. Blood should now be accumulating. Each time your reach the entry point of the lancet, use the edge of the collection tube to scoop up the blood.

6. Repeat until the blood fills at least to the 250 marker on the collection tube* provided.

7. Re-swab finger and apply bandaid. By applying pressure to the puncture wound you will lessen the chance of bruising.

8. Cap tube and wrap tape provided around the seal of the tube and put it in the return envelope with your Evaluation Form.

9. Please enclose a cheque or money order for $ 120.00 USD or $ 150.00 CDN in the return envelope provided and ship to: 

* This tube contains a medium to  keep the blood from clotting. If you are unsuccesfull in utilizing this tube use Method II.

* This tube contains a medium to  keep the blood from clotting. If you are unsuccesfull in utilizing this tube use Method II. 

 

 

Method II

1. First go to the "Evaluation Page" in the table of contents. Fill out the background form & print out a copy to include with your Blood Sample.

2. Use a lancet provided in kit or use the type used for testing blood sugar after swabbing 2nd finger with alcohol or peroxide. Enter at a 45 degree angle half way between the tip of the pad & side of the finger with the lancet. ( doing it faster is always pain free )

3. Allow for a 1-1.5 mm drop to accumulate. Wait about 30 seconds before you begin collection. Then dab the glass slide on to your finger repeating until the blood is gone from your finger or the slide is full of drops.

4. Repeat on a second slide just in case.

5. Let the samples dry face up for about 20-30 min then wrap in paper towel and put inside a vitamin bottle. Put the bottle in a bubble pack or small box along with your Evaluation Form and cash or cheque for 100.00 USD / $ 150.00 CDN & ship to:

Glass Slide

This is typically a standard microscope slide. Although any piece of clear glass will do.

Drop on Finger

After lancing you finger remember to let the blood drop sit for at least 30 seconds on your finger before collecting.
